Hluboká nad Vltavou

The Hluboká chateau is located in the town of Hluboká nad Vltavou, 11 kilometres north of České Budějovice. It is open to the public and it belongs to one of the most attractive tourist sights of the Czech Republic. It contains 140 abundantly equipped rooms and offers a few tourist tours.

An English landscape park is situated near the chateau.  The Aleš South Bohemian Art Gallery is a part of the chateau and it is located in the former horse riding hall. It contains a collection of statues and paintings of 17th and 18th century Dutch painters. The chateau is open all year round.
The Ohrada ZOO, a luxurious golf course, the Knížecí dvůr art gallery or one of the most complex sport facilities in the Czech Republic are located near the chateau. Bezdrev – the second largest pond in the Czech Republic is located approximately two kilometres southwest of the town. Various water sports such as yachting are practised there. Horse races were annually held on the Podskalská meadow between 1972 and 1999 however the race course was adapted to a golf course at the turn of 1999/2000.
